These terms are the agreement between you and Cockpit ("we") for using Cockpit at cockpitai.io and in its desktop and phone apps. By signing in or using Cockpit you accept them. If you use Cockpit for an organisation, you confirm you may accept them for it.
How we handle personal data is in the privacy page.
Invitation-only beta
Cockpit is in a beta that is open by invitation. You ask for access, and we approve or decline the request. Features can change, move or stop while we build. Joining the waitlist does not give you access to Cockpit or promise a date.
Your account
You sign in with Google or Apple. Give true details, keep your sign-in secure, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Cockpit is for professional use by people aged 18 or over. An account is for one person; do not share it.
A team account has a Captain (the admin) and a Crew (the members). The Captain decides which tools each member may use. Members approve their own Production writes.
Acceptable use
Use Cockpit only for lawful work on systems you have the right to use. Do not:
break the law, or the terms of the tools you connect;
connect an account or system you are not allowed to connect;
try to get around Sandbox mode, approvals, limits or other safeguards;
probe, attack or overload Cockpit, or try to reach another person's data;
use Cockpit to build or run malware, or to harm others;
resell Cockpit or give access to people we have not approved.
We can limit or suspend an account that breaks these rules.
Your other accounts
Cockpit works through your own accounts at Salesforce, MuleSoft, GitHub, Slack and Postman. Those accounts stay yours. You are responsible for them, for their terms, fees and limits, and for having the right to connect them. When Cockpit acts, it acts as you, with the access you gave it. Disconnecting a tool ends Cockpit's grant where the provider lets us revoke it.
We suggest you try Cockpit first on throwaway or developer accounts that hold nothing important.
Sandbox and Production modes
A new account starts in Sandbox. In Sandbox, Cockpit declines to write: it does not offer write tools to the Copilot and refuses a write if one is asked for. This is Cockpit's own rule, enforced in Cockpit. It is not a read-only credential at the provider. The key or sign-in you give a provider may allow writes, and anyone who holds it outside Cockpit could write with it.
In Production mode, which you choose yourself, a write happens only after you approve its card. The card names the target it will change. You are responsible for what you approve. Cockpit records your decision.
AI output
Cockpit uses an AI provider, Anthropic, to write answers, plans and code. AI output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Review it before you rely on it, and read every approval card before you approve it. What is sent to the provider is described on the privacy page.
Your content
You keep what is yours: your messages, your connected data and the code Cockpit writes for you. You give us permission to store and process it only to run Cockpit for you, as the privacy page describes. You confirm you have the right to give us that data.
Payments and pricing
No payments are taken today, and Cockpit has no checkout. Pricing may change. If it does, we will give you notice before anything is charged, and you can stop using Cockpit instead.
Availability and no warranty
Cockpit is a beta and is provided "as is" and "as available". We try to keep it running but do not promise it will be always available, error-free or secure against every risk. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data, or loss caused by AI output, by a write you approved, or by a third-party tool or provider. Our total liability for any claim about Cockpit is limited to the amount you paid us for Cockpit in the 12 months before the claim. Because no payments are taken today, that amount may be nothing.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
Ending your use
You can stop at any time and delete your account in the app. What is deleted is on the privacy page.
We can suspend or end your access, for example if you break these terms, if your use puts others or Cockpit at risk, or if we end the beta. We will tell you when we can. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as the limits on liability, survive.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. We will give notice in the app or by email before a change that matters takes effect, and the date at the top changes. If you keep using Cockpit after the date, you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, stop using Cockpit and delete your account.
Who we are and which law applies
During the beta, Cockpit is run by Sivaji Nandimandalam, San Ramon, California, United States. "We" in these terms means him.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in California have jurisdiction over disputes about them, unless the law where you live gives you a right to a different forum.
